Milan is all about style. People here dress to feel modern, and it beautifully juxtaposes the rich history of the city. Both guys and girls are driven by slim fit trends, and they look impressive as hell. Leather is everywhere, from shoes to jackets.
Where we stayed, and what we did in 1/2 a day
We stayed in the heart of the city. It was a ten minute walk to the Piazza del Duomo, which was surrounded by the Duomo di Milano, Palazzo Reale, and the Galeria Vittorio Emanuele II. The square was flooded with selfie sticks, pigeons, and amused locals.
After visiting the cathedral and the galleria, we got gelato nearby and headed away from the tourist trap. Recommended by our Airbnb host, we took a taxi to the Naviglio Grande neighborhood, located south of the city center. It is a hip spot for locals to enjoy a late evening on the banks of the Linea Traghetti Gaggiano. Here, we got drinks and cicchetti at UGO Cocktail Bar, and then some pizza nearby.
